One year ago I left Berlin to travel 5 weeks in Israel and the West Bank. I did the trip alone, so I was able to draw as much as I wanted. It is nice to see how different cultures “react” to someone drawing. In the West Bank, some people would stand quietly behind me watching. Sometimes so quitely that I once turned around to find a group of around 10 men had gathered behind me.  With a small crowd looking over my shoulder it was hard to stay focused. They kept a respectful distance and didn’t try to talk to me, they were just looking at the drawing which (unfortunately…) came out terrible.

The highlights of my trip were spending a night at the Dead Sea, going to Ramallah and a jeep tour in the Judean Desert. Here you can check out the drawings from my trip.

PS: Thank you Philipp for the photo!
